A proud alumna of Aga Khan College, she earned her Bachelor's degree and initially channeled her passion for knowledge into the classroom, serving for years as a dedicated school teacher. This background in education gifted her with the unique patience and keen psychological insight required to understand people's deepest aspirations. Her years in the classroom taught her not only how to listen, but how to truly understand — a skill that would later become the foundation of every match she made.
In 1985, Begum Zaheer transitioned from shaping young minds to uniting hearts, embarking on a professional matchmaking journey alongside her husband, Yaqoob Zaheer. Together, they transformed a traditional practice into a global service defined by trust and integrity. But unfortunately, Yaqoob Zaheer died soon after the creation of BZ. Rather than stepping away, Begum Zaheer chose to carry the mission forward alone — a testament to her extraordinary resilience and her deep belief in the importance of halal matchmaking. Yet over the decades, this widow lady has successfully facilitated thousands of matches, building a legacy that spans across Pakistan, the Middle East, and further abroad.
What set Begum Zaheer apart from others in the field was her unwavering commitment to family values and Islamic principles. She never treated matchmaking as a transactional service. Every proposal she evaluated was considered with the same care and sincerity she would apply to her own family. After retiring in 2020 following a distinguished career spanning over 35 years, she passed the torch to her grandson Muhammad Usman, confident that the values she built would endure. Today, at approximately 75 years of age, she lives in retirement — Alhamdulillah. She is celebrated not only for her academic roots but for the countless families she has helped flourish across the globe, proving that a teacher's influence truly knows no bounds.
